The Conference for the Hellenic Language and Terminology is organized by the Hellenic Society for Terminology in co-operation with the Ionian University, the Hellenic Organization for Standardization, the Intellectual and Scientific Department of the French Embassy, the Institute for Language and Speech Processing, the Hellenic Association of Translators-Interpreters in the Public Sector and the Panhellenic Association of Professional Translators. The aim of the meeting is the presentation of the current situation of the Hellenic Language and Terminology, as it is developing in the multilingual environment of the European Union. Topics:

  • linguistic principles of terminology and, in particular, the Hellenic terminology (attribution/production of terminology, communication)

2e Congr�s de la F�d�ration internationale de banques de terminologie (FIBT) et Table ronde du Forum mondial pour le rapprochement des nations, des races et des religions, organis�s � Varsovie (Pologne) par la FIBT et le Comit� polonais de l’Organisation internationale pour l’unification de n�ologismes terminologiques, sur le th�me : " Harmonisation de la terminologie et rapprochement des nations, des races et des religions au sein de l’Union europ�enne et ailleurs ". Parmi les objectifs poursuivis, on peut citer, outre la n�cessit� d’une harmonisation terminologique - non seulement parmi les pays membres de l’UE, mais �galement parmi ceux qui voudraient en faire partie -, l’�tablissement de r�gles de coop�ration entre soci�t�s oeuvrant dans le domaine de la terminologie, une harmonisation des efforts consentis par diff�rentes institutions afin d’apporter un appui moral et financier de la part des gouvernements, de fondations ou de toute autre source, un appel au Conseil de l’Europe pour qu’il exige des centres, des banques et des collections de terminologie sp�cialis�e, qu’ils participent au libre �change de mat�riel terminologique sous toutes ses formes (bases, dictionnaires, c�d�roms, etc.) et, enfin, encourager les terminologues � collecter et publier des terminologies normalis�es au niveau international.
